Raghu Dixit to perform at Jubilee Pageant

The Raghu Dixit Project has been lined up to perform at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Pageant - a theatrical extravaganza celebrating the monarch’s 60-year reign.
The hugely popular crossover music group will join a host of other stars, including actor Sanjeev Bhaskar, comedian Omid Djalili, Dame Helen Mirren, Britain’s Got Talent’s Susan Boyle, vocal quartet Il Divo, US classical violinist David Garrett, and South African actors from the hit West End musical Lion King in the show to be held at Windsor Castle in June.
Reports say the 90-minute show will also feature some 550 horses and more than 1000 other performers, highlighting “the Queen’s passion for horses and everything equestrian”.
The international nature of the event is meant to celebrate more than 250 Commonwealth and state visits the Queen has made during her reign.
The show's director and producer Simon Brooks Ward told the Press Association: "We have been overwhelmed by the goodwill and support from stars across the globe, who each have their own personal memories of the Queen, and share an enormous amount of love and respect for her work.
The Raghu Dixit Project’s appearance at the festival is further evidence of their increasing popularity in the United Kingdom.
Having won over British hearts with its wonderfully soulful performance on Live with Jools Holland in 2010, the band has performed at a number of high profile events in the UK, including Glastonbury and Alchemy at Southbank.
This month the band will be performing at the 2012 Alchemy Festival as well as at OneFest in Wiltshire before appearing on the Andrew Marr Show.
The Project’s week-long tour of England beginning 13th April will be filmed in a series of video blogs which will  be shown daily on The UKAsian.
The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Pageant will be broadcast on ITV1 in June.

Break-up couple John & Bipasha to make-up for screen

It could have been tinsel town's best kept secret but the cat is now out of the bag... according to the  'Mumbai Mirror' exlovers Bipasha Basu and John Abraham will share screen space in producerEkta Kapoor and director Sanjay Gupta's prequel to the flick, Shootout at Lokhandwala. While Bips will play Manoj Bajpai's love interest in the film, she will dance with John Abraham, and of course Tusshar Kapoor, in a special song.
A source close to the film informed, "Bipasha was signed long back, even before the film had its grand muhurat at Mehboob Studios, where the entire cast was revealed. However her name wasn't announced. The whole idea of the makers was to announce her name during the release to use it as a marketing gimmick."
The source continued, "Bipasha is paired opposite Manoj Bajpai. Incidentally, she plays a prostitute in the film who is instrumental, though indirectly, in the death of Dawood Ibrahim's (Sonu Sood) brother, Sabbir, essayed by Bajpai. John's Manya Surve masterminds the execution of the brother of his biggest rival Dawood and declares war. Incidentally, John and Bips will be seen shaking a leg in the song, along with Tusshar Kapoor."
Interestingly, both Bips and John were quite professional about doing the film. "Contrary to one's expectations, Bipasha had no objections in doing the film in spite of the fact that she had to shoot an entire song which would require three to four days at least. Also John was quite cool about it," said the source.
What remains to be seen is the duo's chemistry when they actually come face to face in July while shooting for the song in a studio in Mumbai...
